I was recently honored by Resoundant, the makers of Magnetic Resonance Elastography (MRE) equipment that provides a non-invasive image liver by them sharing my personal story. MRE is a preferred technology for imaging of the liver¹ due to its detail and ability to accurately assess liver fibrosis in liver disease patients. Having undergone a MRE test in 2015 as part of a clinical study on the use of this device for liver patients, it was discovered that my liver disease, that while normally is a slowly progressing disease had in fact progressed to cirrhosis. The was a life changing moment and I chose to share it with the team at Resoundant so they understood the impact on patients that their work was having. Resoundant recently shared my story on their News section of their website.

As we continue to develop new and more effective assessment tools, treatments and hopefully eventually a cure, this PBC liver disease patient is grateful beyond words for the knowledge that a simple test provided.
